Stash report - Week 2

Remember that fabric diet? It's a great idea in theory, but here's why it's not working for me.

I'm making a quilt. I decided that I love it so much that I'm going to make it into a queen sized bed quilt. But there are 3 fabrics that BUG me. The colors are right, but the prints are not. So I thought about it for a few days. Why am I going to spend all this time and money on a quilt that will always bug me because I didn't want to buy better fabric? So that's it.

I know it's supposed to be challenging and inspire you to "make do" etc etc. At the end of the day, I want to be happy with what I make, not settle because I was trying to prove something to myself. So instead I am starting weekly stash reports that Julie. The hard part will be figuring out how much I'm using (13" here, 9" there...)

sunday stash red
It's a mustache. Get it??

19.5 yards (my LQS was having a good sale!)
Stash week 2-1

10 yards of Neptune (open to swapping) and 2 yards of Lizzy Dish (perfect for my Kitchen Swap)
Stash week 2-2

15 yards of solids (yup, that's 5 yards of gray on top!). What SUCKS is that the nice Kona Tangerine solid somehow got stained in the wash, so I'll have to be very careful about what I use.
Stash week 2-3

Busted (all for the blocks in my Start Square series):
5.75 yards linen, aqua, green, pink
5.5 yards red, aqua, grey
1 FQ for a camera pouch
SSweek1 option3-1

Bought: 44.5 yards
Busted: - 11.5 yards
Net: 33

  1. Ha ha, when you fall off the wagon, you fall hard! :) I have no restraint when it comes to fabric diets so I completely sympathize. Actually, when I put myself on a diet, I find I want to buy EVEN MORE than if I weren't on a diet.

Love your choices, by the way.

  2. I love your stash, especially the solids.
I love your aqua and red zigzags too.

Thanks for dropping by. Is something on your mind?
