Back

This past week was Spring Break. After my dreadful day at the airport last Sunday, I ended up spending a fantastic week with my mom, sister, and little niece. I am just amazed at how much my niece can do at only 2.5 weeks old!

I'm so torn about the baby thing. Do I want one or not? I know I don't have to decide today or tomorrow, but soon, right? Can I go without sleep? Can I deal with a small child and their chatter? Sigh. Let's just admire my sister's cute baby.

Oh! And here's the quilt I made for the little one. I used Tula Pink's Parisville. The back is flannel from my LQS. Designer flannel is SO MUCH NICER than what JoAnn carries! The binding is Kaffe Fassett. I made my own template for the blocks and quilted it with loopies. I think it looks like a party! :)

She doesn't seem to be in a party mood though...

  1. Oh, how cute is she? Sometimes I miss the newborn stage, other times, not so much. : ) The quilt is just beautiful.

  2. I totally know what you mean about being torn about the whole baby thing... I think I'm becoming less torn, they do become a lot of fun after a couple of months, you just have to get to that point! Love the quilt (it certainly doesn't hurt that you used Parisville, lol)!

  3. awwwwww cuteness plus plus plus - as a Mummy of two miracles I can 100% say 'go for it' - but - then again I always wanted babies and was never torn. I love the smell of new borns, sleeplessness doesn't last forever (promise) and the snuggles ahhhhhhhhh and the rewards :)))) hardest but most rewarding job I've ever done.
And the quilt is lovely xxx

  4. I don't think any of us are ever really ready for babies. You kind of just get ready as you need to. Also, don't you teach middle school or high school? If you can handle that then you can definately handle having your own baby!!

  5. I'm totally torn on the baby thing too ;) They are a lot of work. Definitely enjoy your time without them, but then comes a time when you just kind of know it will work. I wouldn't sell mine for anything! The chatter is one of my favorite things, but I definitely don't like my new sleep patterns or lack of sewing time as much!
