Bags

Earlier this week I finished my Goodie Bag. Once it is received I'll tell you all about it. Let me just say that, although some patterns are a pain in the butt, they should not be altered.

And some patterns ROCK!!! I was on a bag kick and I had the Vera Bag pattern from Alexia just begging for my attention. I used some home dec fabric that I had originally bought for the goodie bag before it arrived and was not the color I was hoping for (not as navy as I wanted).

The shape and size are perfect. It took me longer than I expected to put it together, but that's because I was being a fussy perfectionist.

The directions are very clear and easy to follow. I wasn't sure about interfacing because the fabric is so heavy (home dec and canvas), but I did end up using a light weight woven interfacing. I'm glad that I did. It gives the bag a nice shape, but it was a bit bulky to sew through at the pleats.

I wouldn't change a thing. I'm satisfied with the provided pocket situation. I have a place for my phone and a few pens, and a small pocket for my travel tape measurer.

Thank you so so so so so much for the pattern, Alexia!!!
