The best tool for any job,
ReplyDeleteIs always a friends smarter than you,
To give great advice
And help you see it through!
Teehee. Although knowing people smarter than me is my secret sewing weapon I also love my Swedish tracing paper for tracing patterns so you can keep the original intact. Thanks for the fun giveaway!
Ode to a rotary cutter
ReplyDeleteWithout it, lots of curse words I would utter.
Measure twice, cut once; proceed slow.
That is all ye know on earth, and all quilters need to know.
I used Ode on a Grecian Urn as inspiration. Thanks English 101 from college;)
No more safety pinpricks
ReplyDeleteMuch less swearing
505 spray, you're a basting tool worth having!
Thanks for the giveaway! That looks like a great tool... No more burned fingers trying to fold handles!
Ode to my magnetic pin holder
ReplyDeleteWithout you, the pins would all be on my shoulder
You make it so easy to throw a pin and you catch
I need your magnetism or else it would be my foot that would fetch
Ouch!
Yay for magnets- thanks for the chance :)
Once, long ago, in a land far away
ReplyDeleteAll of my bindings would have pins the wrong way
As I went along, my fingers would get stuck
Words leapt from my mouth (even "Oh @#$!")
Then I found the answer, they are Wonder Clips
And the words are more beautiful that come from my lips.
Of their praises I will sing, all day and all night:
"Wonder clips are amazing! I've seen the light!"
Thanks for the giveaway! :)
Ode to my quikclip...without you my fingers would have cuts on them from closing and opening hundreds and hundreds of tiny safety pins. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance!

ReplyDeleteOde to Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteElizabeth Elizabeth, oh what a name
So many around, but none quite the same.
The Queen, Taylor, Arden, and Barrett Browning
But only one sewing machine named 'lizabeth.
You always will be my go-to dame!
I don't know what I'd do if had not my seam ripper
ReplyDeleteI'd fiddle and fuss trying to take out ill sewn zippers
I'd dread and I'd cry and think I'm not good at what I do
But due to my trusty friend, oh seam ripper, I can, I can, I can sew well with you
Haiku for a rotary cutter:
ReplyDeleteUneven lines all
Made me crazy until you,
Rotary cutter
My purple quilting gloves are so old
ReplyDeleteHowever it does help me keep my hands from sliding
Which makes quilting so much easier
Without it I don't think I would do any quilting
