Edits and Contest

As a teacher, I'm no stranger to a red pen. Still, it's hard to catch all of your own mistakes. There were at least 3 rounds of edits - I think.

I had THE BEST Technical Editor EVER! Helen was meticulous. Checking all of my patterns, then rechecking them is not easy. Especially since they are not standard "block" quilt patterns. Are there going to be mistakes? Probably. Like this.

Errata #1: Area does NOT equal pi 2 r. I didn't write that on the chalk board! ;)

But overall I'm so happy that I was able to work with someone with as much attention to detail as she has. If you haven't figured it out, I'm really happy with working with Stash Books.

So, about this contest. I couldn't narrow it down in my mind to just 1 thing. I'm thinking there might be months of things. I'm excited, you know?

I thought we could start easy. Tell me:
From my book, what project are you most excited about / which is your favorite? And what fabric from Westwood Acres would you use to make it?

There are 2 ways to enter (and you can enter once each way, for 2 entries!):
1. Post to Instagram, mention @a_2_w and use #quiltlabcontest
2. Comment on my status on my Facebook page

I know books are still arriving, so we'll keep this open until February 17. 2 winners will receive a FE bundle from WestWood Acres.

Pat Sloan has invited me to be on her radio show - American Patchwork & Quilting - on Monday! This is the big time you guys!!! I hope you'll tune in and hear me be completely awkward and star struck. ;)

  1. Exciting - I'll try and hunt the podcast down. At least podcasts work internationally!

  2. Congratulations on the book. I still need to get a copy so I can see all your hard work

  3. Look at you doing a podcast, sweet!

  4. Congratulations. am so excited about your book which is in the mail. On the 28 February, I will have a book review of your book with a project on my blog.

  5. I would love to make the teal & black triangles quilt. And to use the Potluck bundle fabric! :)

Thanks for dropping by. Is something on your mind?
